My apartment was one among 40 included in the book "Apartment Therapy Presents Real Homes, Real People, Hundreds of Real Design Solutions".

When the interior design people at Bloomingdales wanted to introduce new, improved lines of furniture for small spaces and re-launch the entire "Furniture on 5", they asked the author of the book (and mastermind of the design blog, apartmenttherapy.com), Maxwell Gillingham-Ryan, to choose 3 of the book's contributors to design studio apartment-scale-looking vignettes for their windows, by choosing pieces from those new lines of furniture.

This was an ideal chance chance for me to use one of my favorite kinds of mural work. For these projects, I select and enlarge a vintage paint-by-number painting from my large collection, scale it onto a wall, fill it in (almost completely) with the original painting's palette. Finally, I take color and form cues from the mural to decorate as well as flesh-out the space with furniture and accessories.

Click on the "Work" button to see more of this project and as well as to find various examples of my other work.

Thanks for stopping by!
